IT Sourcing TechnicianCustomer Service Coordinator Job Number : 39052
    The Customer Support Section (CSS) of the Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) Customer Service Coordinator who is a self-motivated and an organized individual to facilitate activities associated with the lifecycle of procurement and asset management. Responsibilities will include:
  • Manage moves for the EPS user community on behalf of the CSS, IT Branch to ensure delivery and maintaining the support of PC devices meets the client’s requirements of the EPS, in an acceptable manner.
  • Responsible for providing and managing the highest quality of customer service within a schedule of priorities.
  • Manage and coordinate the internal and external moves for all levels of EPS clients. ITSM tickets for MAC (moves, adds, changes).
  • Manage special events within the scope of CSS. These special projects are external, such as Capital Ex, Heritage Days, and Canada Day for computer equipment requirements.
  • Organize and coordinate the PC rollout/upgrade tasks with IT Desktop Analysts providing the highest quality customer service with the least amount of interruptions and down time.
  • Manage, coordinate, and organize renovations on behalf of the IT Branch that include consulting and coordinating with clients, Facilities Management, Materials Management and trades – to ensure minimal disruption to clients.
  • Consulting the Infrastructure Section regarding renovations, moves and where data lines are required to enable deliverables for clients.
  • Instruct, advise, and direct in detail, the information reports containing instructions and directions to complete the tasks assigned in each project. ITSM tickets or work orders are assigned to the appropriate group by IT Helpdesk. Such as: Desktop Support Analysts, Infrastructure Section, and Applications Section.
  • Advise and instruct Desktop Team Leads on all MAC projects. Advise Network Analysts and Telecommunications on computer equipment relocations and renovations.
  • Provide leadership to Desktop Technicians and Helpdesk Analysts in the CSS.
  • Consult and coordinate equipment needed for Service Catalog.
  • Coordinate maintenance service calls (no longer on warranty).
  • Monitor contract terms and conditions to ensure license compliance.
  • Maintain and administer assets within the ITSM system, this includes lifecycle of the assets within the EPS environment.
  • Follow-up and consult with clients daily on tasks assigned to the MAC/Purchasing group.
  • Represent CSS and meet clients regarding concerns related to their customer support issues.
  • Contact, coordinate and consult with vendors as requested and required on behalf of CSS.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of hardware and software offered in the Service Catalog.
    Qualifications :
  • Post secondary Diploma in a related discipline AND one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • OR
    One (1) year related Certificate* AND two (2) years relevant experience. *Relevant certificate programs generally have a minimum of 700+ instructional hours and will include relevant course work related to the position. Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade or GED is required.
  • Experience in asset management.
  • Knowledge of IT computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise agreement paths.
  • Ability to make quick decision during stressful situations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta’s Driver’s license and able to provide own transportation.
  • Applicants may be required to undergo a knowledge or skills assessment test.

  • Hours of Work:
    33.75 hours per week between 0800-1600 hours, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program. Incumbents must be available for call-out outside of these hours on a rotational basis.
    Salary Range:
    21M, Salary Grade 036, $32.25$40.51 (Hourly), $2,177.20$2,734.90 (Bi-Weekly), $56,825.25$71,380.82 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the that expired on December 22, 2018.
