As a member of our diverse Global Operations team, you will help manage courier logistics and operational capacity for not only the Canadian market but also for international partners in this highly rewarding field.
What the Delivery Operations Planning function does:
Supports Just Eat Takeaway.com’s delivery network operations and the Care Operations teams by:

  • Forward-looking forecasting & scheduling of required supply of couriers & operations team members
  • Real-time oversight & coordination of operations in progress
  • Backward-looking analysis & insights to inform forward-looking planning
Scope:
  • Delivery network operations: 500+ zones in 5 countries (>50K couriers scheduled weekly)
  • Delivery user-support operations: 2200 team members supporting 4 countries, 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Manage operational outcomes for our Delivery business in all Just Eat Takeaway.com (JET) Delivery markets, by:
  • Controlling courier supply on our Delivery network (in each of 500+ zones across 5 countries, 365 days per year)
  • Operating Skip/Delco technology to achieve desired outcomes for customers, restaurants, couriers
  • Surface information & insights about JET’s delivery business to all relevant stakeholders
  • Analyze data to develop/deepen knowledge of delivery operations/outcomes
  • Supply a variety of stakeholders (Ops senior leadership, country Managing Directors & Delivery Directors, Marketing leadership, Finance leadership) with the right information/insights for making informed decisions
What’s On Your Plate:
  • Workforce Planning/Management
  • Forecasting: small team (< 5) of analysts responsible for forecasting workload and required supply of operations staff. Analytical focus.
  • Scheduling & operations: 5-10 heads responsible for Delco operations staff, plus ongoing ‘help-desk’-style customer service for operations staff (schedule inquiries etc.). Operational focus.
  • Real-Time Management: ~15 heads overseeing real-time resource allocation of Delco operations staff. Operational focus.
  • Operations Reporting: specialized/analytical team, surfacing information & insights to support decision-making by Delco operations leadership.
  • Forecasting & Insights: small, specialized team of analysts using sophisticated data analysis + modeling to drive forecasting & insights for Delco network operations
  • Courier-Scheduling Operations: medium-size team (~20 heads) of operational support, responsible for operating Skip scheduling tools to build & publish courier schedules in all Delco markets, on an ongoing basis
  • Real-Time Coordination (‘Delivery Logistics’): large team (~100 heads) of operational support, responsible for operating Skip order-assignment & logistics tools to manage real-time delivery outcomes in all Delco markets
  • Accountable for operational outcomes for Delco network operations and Delco user-support operations (scope as described in first sections above)
  • Oversee development and implementation of strategy, structure and process to enable Operations Planning teams to be successful.
  • Owner of key ‘stakeholder’ relationships -- conduit between Ops Planning and operations leadership, JET in-country leadership, and others (e.g. Product, People, Finance)
  • Member of Delco Ops leadership team -- working closely with colleagues in steering Delco operations from a strategic, tactical and cultural standpoint
  • Acquisition and Termination responsibilities for 200+ direct and indirect reports, ranging from Ops specialist level to ‘Head of’ level.
