Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Sherritt Maintenance, the Supervisor, Millwrights position will be accountable for providing front line leadership and direction to the crews, coordinating the daily activities of plant maintenance to continually meet the business objectives of safe, efficient, and effective production


  • Manage the maintenance budget in relation to the maintenance and production facilities.
  • Implement an Asset Management strategy to maximize equipment availability.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the day to day operations of their maintenance team, supporting the overall maintenance strategy on a 0-3 month time frame.
  • Develop amongst the maintenance team a consistent understanding and application of standards and procedures with the objective of zero harm to employees, the environment, and neighboring communities.
  • Provide coaching and monitoring to maintenance teams, including documenting issues, commendations for good performance, and correcting poor performance and behaviors.
  • Develop and implement operational excellence plans and initiatives to support continuous improvements in areas of responsibility.
  • Support the implementation of the Asset Management (AM) strategy for the Fort Site.

Qualifications and Skills

  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, a diploma in engineering technology, journeyman certificate or equivalent experience with plant operations and maintenance.
  • Proficient computer skills with Infor EAM and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of maintenance safe work practices, performance measures, planning and scheduling tools and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, administrative and leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Understanding of HSE and emergency response practices, procedures and tactics. Knowledge of provincial and federal safety and environment legislation to ensure that regulations are met.
  • The successful candidate must possess attention to detail, decision making, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
