Senior Manager, Compliance - Credit Advisory Group Job Opening in Toronto

What is the opportunity?

You will lead and manage a diverse Compliance team responsible for the execution of lending value calculations, financial covenant testing and related activities. You will provide direction to identifying process and efficiency improvements, problem resolution and the integration/implementation of new initiatives and activities. You will be responsible for the attainment and maintenance of established Quality Standards, Client Service Commitments and provide advice on compliance monitoring activities. You will deliver on the department/function’s goals and objectives, while managing against business and change plan, operational/credit risk mitigation and enhancing the client experience with full alignment to CB Operations business objectives and Our Collective Ambition.

What will you do?

Client Experience

  • Deliver on superior client experience every time; focusing on doing what is best for our clients and the organization and making it Simpler, Faster, Better while ensuring department employees understand Canadian Banking and Canadian Banking Operations strategic goals and the impact their performance has on end to end sales/service cycle.
  • Ensure department’s performance against established benchmarks for designated client activities, transactions and/or processes, contributing to achievement of business specific Client Service Commitments (CSC’s) and/or Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Lead focused efforts to address client escalations and drive ‘once and done’, minimizing hand offs in resolving client issues/escalations at first point of contact.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating Leadership Model behaviors consistently, creating a positive and productive work environment while driving high performance of a dynamic team to actualize their potential.
  • Use a growth mindset to encourage and coach team members as they build new knowledge, skills and capabilities, and execute change while supporting employees through proactive communication, issue resolution and effective decision-making.
  • Actively participate in business planning with the Director/Senior Director, supporting the CB Operations and the Centre’s business and client strategies and ensure all authorities for the role (delegated authorities, SECAF, systems access etc.) are adhered to, reviewed and understood.
  • Ensure skills, knowledge and accreditations are up-to-date and meet position requirements and coach team to take appropriate action to close gaps identified.
  • Lead and drive workforce management planning/cross training /resource sharing for the department utilizing available tools, the right people, and the right skills/capabilities to meet business needs across CB Operations businesses.

What do you need to succeed?


  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or equivalent related work experience.
  • Leadership experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Commercial Account Manager, Financing specialist, GRM manager or Commercial Credit Advisor.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with commercial credit.
  • Strong operational and organizational competencies.
  • Deep understanding of the Compliance and Monitoring activities for Commercial Banking.
  • Working knowledge of systems (Synergy, OLBB, CMS, Covarity, etc).


  • Certified Professional Accountant, MBA or CFA.
  • Bilingual in French and English
