Administrative Assistant Job Openings in Guelph

Central Health Care is a busy multidisciplinary clinic located in the south end of Guelph. We are currently looking to hire an administrative assistant to fill a full-time (approx 30hrs/wk) position.

As an Administrative Assistant, you will

  • Greet patients and visitors in friendly and professional manner both in person and over the phone
  • Answer phones and direct to the appropriate person
  • Accurately book patient appointments
  • Check-in patients and provide guidance for completion of all necessary paperwork relating to their appointments
  • Process payments by cash/debit, reconcile daily transactions and prepare cash summary reports
  • Process extended health care, WSIB and MVA billings and maintain receivables
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with all team members to provide a welcoming and patient focused environment
  • Perform other general clinic/administrative duties including data entry, filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning, printing documents and maintaining tidiness in clinic, administrative areas and the front reception area.
  • Answer client questions and resolve customer complaints, escalating to appropriate party as required
  • Manage social media accounts

Skills required to be successful:

  • Teachable
  • Medical clinical experience preferred
  • Excellent rapport building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Great time management and organization skills
  • Resourcefulness
  • Comfort with technology and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate
  • Knowledge of Practice Perfect software as well as the Telus and HCAI billing portals would be considered an asset but is not required
  • Experience with WSIB and MVA claims would be considered an asset but is not required
  • Comfort with posting and managing social media platforms

No weekends however must be willing to work some evenings until 7pm.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Guelph, ON N1G 1Y7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
