Cord is seeking a Contracts Administrator / Subcontracts Specialist to work in our growing Subcontracts group on one of our EPC Projects. This position is based on the work site within Alberta.

Position Description: Supporting the Supply Chain function, the Contracts Administrator is responsible for the procurement of all third party services and the administration of all awarded subcontract services required to support the ongoing operational, production and administrative functions of Cord LP. From subcontract formation (development of request for proposal packages, identification of potential subcontractors, negotiation, recommendation and award) to subcontract administration (kick-off meetings, progress meetings, vetting and logging LEMs, processing invoices, management of change, claims resolution and closeout of subcontracts) including the ongoing evaluation of suppliers who have been selected to provide services that support the short and long term goals of Cord.

Relationship: The Contracts Administrator reports directly to the Director, Subcontracts (Supply Chain) in all matters. In functional duties, the incumbent will liaise with all departments and branches including project and site construction managers, module yard, fabrication shop, project controllers and other internal and external customers of Cord.

Work Conditions : On site, within Alberta

Work Shift : 10 days on 4 days off OR 14 days on and 7 days off, Living out Allowance and travel pay provided.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain an efficient and effective supply chain base through the selection, qualification and ongoing management of subcontractors. This will include the development, implementation and execution of processes with internal and external customers to address subcontractor prequalification, delivery, performance, quality, best value, service, technical improvements, safety and other related items
• Responsible to work with the various project teams to develop scopes of work, safety and loss control, quality standards and other relevant issues
• General subcontract administration and coordination of approved and authorized proposals / agreements
• Maintain professionalism and remain current with new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional organizations, publications and in house training
• Adhere to all corporate policies and ethics codes, i.e., Corporate Code of Conduct
• Undertake specifically assigned projects relating to the subcontracts management functions and provide summaries, reports, business cases and recommendations on projects along with other activities as required

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience within industrial oil & gas construction projects (is preferred)
• Commercial knowledge is required
• Supply Chain Management designation is preferred
• A high level of discretion and confidentiality
• Mature negotiation skills
• Ability to focus decisions on Overall Customer and Business Impact
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
• Interpersonal skills – establish direct working relationships and rapport with all levels within the organization
• Ability to influence decisions and results without alienating people or being adversarial
• Computer literate, in all Microsoft office products
