POSITION: Aviation Stores Coordinator

LOCATION: Whitehorse, Yukon

STATUS: Full-time, Temporary Position, 1 year term with a potential for extension based on seasonal demands. Monday - Friday schedule. 40 hours per week.

RATE: Commensurate with experience; $56,160-$66,000 Annually

START DATE: January 12th, 2021

JOB OVERVIEW

As part of the Alkan Air team, the Aviation Stores Coordinator reports to the Quality & Assurance Coordinator and/or Director of Maintenance (DOM). The Aviation Stores Coordinator is required to maintain an organized department with aviation parts stored in their proper location for easy access; developing a system to ensure that stock levels and ensure parts and items ordered are consistent with the requirements of the department and Transport Canada. The Aviation Stores Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient logistical solutions to shipping and receiving developments in a timely manner.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will perform a wide range of duties including the following:

• Timely handling of Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requirement and arranging effective logistical plans for any required parts of the aircraft.
• Continually tracks all incoming parts on daily basis and provides update on critical movements.
• Shipping and receiving of aircraft parts using an electronic inventory system in accordance with Transport Canada Regulations.
• Parts and materials purchasing.
• Parts and materials handling including completing and receiving inspection, storing parts, issuing parts and retaining documentation.
• Reports to Production Manager or DOM daily on status of parts.
• Report any discrepancies to the Quality & Assurance Coordinator or DOM.
• Responsible for keeping accurate inventory records including parts requests, request for quotes and parts orders.
• Inventory control management of request for parts and purchase orders
• Will retrieve parts for floor staff and assign them to an applicable job card
• Will prepare parts for upcoming jobs as required by the Production Manager
• Returning unused parts to the inventory
• Responsible for inventory cycle counts on a periodic basis and support the year-end inventory count process
• Other duties as assigned by the DOM.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience working in Aviation or as a Parts Clerk is an asset.
• Must be willing to work shift work and on weekends as necessary.
• Be ready to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Experience with Aviation Tracking Software considered an asset.
• General understanding of basic Accounting principles.
• Must be organized and keen to detail.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and manage priorities for a variety of tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Must be able to work under pressure to handle time-sensitive tasks without losing composure and be able to complete the task accurately.
• Ability to communicate clearly and correspond via phone and email
