Sales Representative Job Openings in Abbotsford

(AEP) is one of the fastest growing, publicly traded, supplier of trusses, windows, doors and engineered products in Canada. With manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the country, AEP has expert design and engineering teams, multiple-shift state-of-the-art manufacturing operations, and large inventories of engineered beam and flooring components.


AEP is currently looking for a regular, full time Sales Representative to support operations in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, our ideal candidate will be driven, detail-oriented, motivated, and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced industry. At AEP, our focus is on innovation as well as industry roll-up and consolidation, and our customer’s needs influence our response to each of these aspects of our business. It will be our Sales Representatives who will be responsible for developing partnerships with customers to fully understand their needs and assist in planning residential and commercial building projects. As knowledgeable professionals, Sales Representatives should be able to make total solution recommendations for the customer and specific project needs.


SALES REPRESENTATIVE ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Provide superior customer service through proactive customer engagement;
  • Build a quality, valued, relationship so that they can work closely with the customer on every project they undertake:
  • Collaborate with the design, operations, and marketing teams to drive profitable sales growth and increase market share;
  • Prospect, acquire, and develop new customer accounts;
  • Retain and grow business relationships with existing accounts by proactively identifying opportunities and presenting innovative solutions.

CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS:


  • Demonstrate a willingness to understand and align all design efforts to AEP’s innovation focus, operational capabilities and marketing plan;
  • Blueprint (Architecture, Structural and Mechanical) reading skills;
  • Experience and knowledge of rough framing and the construction process;
  • Command of local building codes, national building codes, structural analysis, and structural engineering;
  • Be able to communicate and enforce adherence;
  • Expertise in the application of building components and connections of floor (I-Joist and LVL), and roof (truss) systems, tall walls, and other engineered wood products;
  • Expert skills to develop trusting and lasting customer relationships;
  • Proven skills to articulate exact customer needs to design team paired with the ability to facilitate, foster and grow a relationship between customers and the Atlas design and operations team;
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve incomplete or ambiguous project requirements;
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve errors or omissions within blueprints;
  • Demonstrates high standards of safety and customer service;
  • Adds value to the customer’s buying experience by making recommendations;
  • Works with co-workers and vendors to support customers’ needs;
  • Achieves weekly, monthly and annual sales targets;
  • Keeps current with trends in a constantly changing industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 3 + years of sales experience in a fast-paced industry;
  • 3+ years of customer service experience;
  • Experience with the application of building components;
  • Experience in blueprint reading;
  • Experience in framing and construction
  • Experience working with local and national building code;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to work effectively with other staff, suppliers, and customers;
  • Experience with growing companies supporting builders, construction, or multi-site manufacturing organizations would be an asset.
