Advisor, People Relations Flight Operations Job Opening in Toronto

The Advisor, People Relations is responsible for an assigned internal client group, providing advice and guidance related to the best practices across all functions in Human Resources. The Advisor plays an integral role in assisting all levels of leadership to maximize the effectiveness of WestJet's most valued asset, our people.


  • Leader in coaching and support in the areas of performance management, labour and employee relations, talent management, employee engagement, change management in a high volume operational environment
  • Provide collaborative support with Labour Relations team and Union activities
  • Support roll out all People programs
  • Provide any required Organizational Development support to assigned client groups including creating and delivering training initiatives (Progressive Discipline,Canada Labour Code, Leader Effectiveness),
  • People Policy and Program stakeholder analysis, development, and implementation as required
  • Workplace investigations
  • Partner with Disability Management on modified duties program, permanent accommodations, case management


  • Proven success partnering with leaders to impact Human Resources decisions and influencing business behaviors in leaders
  • Experience supporting operations
  • Experience with investigations, performance discipline
  • Experience in identifying and leading change initiatives
  • Strong track record in demonstrating Human Resources principles within a service delivery model
  • A strong consulting orientation and client focus with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with client groups
  • Leadership experience, including managing performance, engaging in difficult conversations and developing employees is an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of Human Resources or equivalent is required and a CHRP Designation is considered an asset
  • 5 years HR Generalist experience
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is a strong asset
  • Travel may be required
