Project Coordinator Job Openings in Calgary

Siksika Career Employment and Income Support provides financial support and career and employment training opportunities to our off-reserve clients while honouring our Siksika way of life.

Siksika Career Employment and Income Support is currently seeking a Project Coordinator to assist the Director in planning and carrying out activities related to the Siksika Family Services Corporation Urban Service Care Plan project. The Project assists First Nation people living in urban centres facing dire social and economic issues and challenges related to COVID-19

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Director of SECIS in planning and carrying out the activities relating to the SFSC Urban Service Care Plan project;
  • Assists the Director in compiling a comprehensive list of Siksika Nation members residing off reserve incorporating information on family size, composition and contact information such as email address, phone number, address;
  • Supervises and collaborates with the IT Technician in developing and implementing the Siksika Membership Information Network;
  • Supervises and collaborates with the Research/ Information Analyst in developing and implementing a communication plan and oversees the dissemination of information to Nation members residing off reserve;
  • Collaborates with project staff and external education institutes to develop and implement an online learning program for pre-school and school-age children/students including curricula relating to Blackfoot culture and language;
  • Supports the Director and program staff of SECIS in providing wholistic services to vulnerable Nation members residing off reserve;
  • Provides regular written and verbal reports on the status of the Urban Service Care Plan project to the Director of SECIS and CEO of Siksika Family Services Corporation and other stakeholders;

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A post-secondary degree or certificate is required.
  • Three or more years of working experience in a human services organization.
  • Possesses knowledge of aboriginal or Siksika culture, language, and history.
  • Ability to speak the Siksika language is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Highly organized in prioritizing work, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines.
  • Superior communication and customer service skills.
