WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

Reporting to the Lead Scrum Master, you will play an integral role in the life cycle of our Product and Engineering teams. From facilitating Scrum rituals to leading efforts for relentless improvement, Scrum Masters are servant leaders who spend most of their time helping others communicate and coordinate. As such, you will work closely with our development teams, helping them become high functioning and self-organizing in our fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. You will remove the roadblocks that may be preventing your teammates from achieving continuous delivery of customer values and help them be accountable to the goals for which they are responsible. You will also be an integral part of scaling the Agile framework across our organization.

More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Guiding teams and the organization on how to continue to improve Agile and Scrum best practices to delight customers and enhance business processes;
  • Providing product and project management services related to Riva, Riva Insight and other products as appropriate;
  • Facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings;
  • Helping and coaching the team to clarify goals, and actions required to achieve them;
  • Supporting and encouraging the team to make decisions, get help when needed, and take ownership of their commitments;
  • Acting as a funnel point for information going to the team to minimize distractions and interferences;
  • Removing impediments and roadblocks for the development teams;
  • Helping to build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear or judgment, with an emphasis on problem solving and conflict resolution;
  • Keeping the development teams responsible for their deadlines and targets;
  • Managing release cycles for multiple products;
  • Working with the Product Team to identify and prioritize, through customer feedback and research, enhancements that fall into Riva’s development strategies to add features, functionality and improved integrations short- and long-term;
  • Monitoring and reporting on sprint progress and deliverables through metrics and retrospectives;

  • Perform other marketing-related duties as may be required from time to time.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM or SSM);
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Scrum Master;
  • Knowledge of Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, and other Agile development techniques;
  • Experience with web-based software development;
  • Experience working with development teams comprised of developers, testers, UI/UX designers;
  • Experience working with product development focused organizations;
  • Continuous improvement mindset;
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) with the ability to speak to both business and technical teams as well as clearly translate ideas between them;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and/or
  • Online tool suite experience (Jira, Redmine).

Bonus points for:

  • Additional Scrum/SAFe Certifications;
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and tool sets and test automation; and/or
  • Experience in agile software development in a direct delivery role (e.g. software developer, testing/QA).
