Teaching-Track Assistant ProfessorIntroductory Physics
is located on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Mississauga Nations and, within the lands protected by the Dish with One Spoon wampum agreement.
Position Description
The Department of Physics & Astronomy at invites applications for a teaching-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with expertise in introductory physics starting July 1, 2020.
Candidates must have completed a PhD in a relevant discipline by the start date of the appointment, and must have enthusiasm and experience with teaching at the undergraduate level. The ability to teach non-introductory undergraduate courses in an area complementary to our existing expertise and an interest in pedagogy research and innovation in teaching and learning would be assets.
The Department of Physics & Astronomy presently consists of 25 faculty and around 80 graduate students, with strengths in astrophysics, elementary particle physics, laser physics, quantum optics and ultracold atoms, medical physics, quantum condensed matter physics, soft condensed matter and biophysics.
