International Program Assistant Job Opening in York University (Keele campus)

Purpose:
Osgoode Professional Development (OsgoodePD) is a revenue-generating unit with the broadest range of programs available in Canada for internationally-trained lawyers and law graduates. Reporting to the Manager, International Programs, the International Program Assistant plays a key role in serving students in OPD's credit and non-credit, International Programs offerings.
Education:
Community college diploma in addition to minimum experience requirement indicated below OR 2-3 years of work-related experience in addition to minimum experience requirement indicated below OR 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at and performing the same or similar tasks in addition to the minimum experience requirement listed below.
Experience:
2 years of recent experience in program/student services administration. Administrative/secretarial work in a professional service high volume environment, preferably in an academic program setting with a University. Recent experience providing a consistently high level of responsive front-line client service to members of the business/corporate community required. Strong attention to detail, proven experience in working with details in a consistently accurate, fast, and efficient manner. Experience working with the Student Information System (SIS) or a similar computerized record system. Experience using Moodle or similar learning management system.
Skills:
Strong computer skills, including superior word-processing skills, proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), experience using a learning management system (such as Moodle). Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to deal effectively, professionally, and personably with a diverse student population (mature students and international students). Demonstrated tact. Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive issues and confidential materials. Excellent oral and written communications. Strong service orientation. Ability to exercise good judgment. Highly developed organizational skills. Ability to work independently with little supervision, ability to multitask in a fast-paced front-line role. Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a small team. Technical skills: Typing 45-50 w.p.m., accuracy essential, Microsoft Word (intermediate-advanced), Microsoft Excel (intermediate), Powerpoint (intermediate), e-mail software (e.g. Outlook), demonstrated experience working with an online records system (e.g. SIS), experience using a learning management system (e.g. Moodle) preferred.
