This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Health Services Manager, the Clerk B contributes to the effective operation of the General Internal Medicine Clinic by acting as the central communication person (for the unit). He/she performs reception, clerical and administrative duties following hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of maturity and discretion in handling confidential matters.

Qualifications
  • Grade XII plus one year related experience or graduate of recognized one year related business / administrative program required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • PHS and STAR Registration preferred
  • Knowledge of computers
  • Data entry experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work Long assignment, part-time 50% FTE position, 35 hrs bi-weekly
