HOURS: Currently, Days 8 hours Monday to Friday. Must be available to attend hospital sites after hours and during emergencies


Working under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Managers, the PMC site Supervisor organizes, assigns and distributes workload amongst clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient department operations, ensuring the provision of optimal patient care for services which include General X-ray, MammographyOBSP, CT, Ultrasound and DPX. Resolve staffing and operational site issues as they arise. Monitors the efficiency of the department, evaluates performance of areas against standard and initiates appropriate action if required. In consultation/collaboration with DI Managers, physician partners and team members, will develop and implement clinical services functional and strategic plan for the department. Establish a professional practice climate and facilitates a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Hires, orients and manages staff performance as determined by human resource policies, union contracts, legislation and standards of practice. Coaches and mentors assigned staff to foster a positive atmosphere that supports team building, collaboration and shared learning
  • Reports to the Clinical Service Managers, Diagnostic Imaging
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director, BCH and EGH site Chiefs Radiologists and Clinical Services Director
  • Collaborates with Corporate Modality Supervisors, Technical specialists and Clerical Supervisors
  • Collaborates with Business Operations Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory
  • Develops and updates annual team/service goals and objectives
  • Routinely measures, monitors, analyzes and reports on operational performance data.
  • Implements corporate action plans at the team level
  • Develops and implements a human resource plan to maximize the effective utilization of staff resources.
  • Develop staff schedules for multiple modalities
  • Responsible for payroll submissions
  • Analyzes monthly/annual department budget in collaboration with Managers/Director which includes staffing, operational and capital resources and reports compliance.
  • Analyzes fiscal data and implements cost control measures.
  • Through the use of internal and external benchmarks identifies opportunities for service improvements.
  • Identifies and monitors patient data to determine patient access requirements.
  • Initiates services to meet patient needs with resources available.
  • Ensure compliance with related legislation and laws
  • Identifies risk management issues.


  • Completion of a Health Discipline Professional designation
  • Minimum of 5 years recent medical imaging experience required.
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required. Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) preferred.
  • Mammography experience an asset including knowledge of CAR and OBSP
  • Understanding of technical procedures, operations, and applications required
  • Supervisory/Leadership experience required
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Medical Radiation Technology Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant government guidelines, regulations and legislation.

  • Contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of new/revised policies, procedures, protocols and performance standards.
  • Anticipates impacts of change on quality assurance procedures and initiates timely adaptations to ensure quality control is maintained.
  • Observes, understands and ensures staff and departmental compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and with government legislation.
  • Adheres to hospital and departmental mission and value statements.
  • Ability to teach, coach, train, mentor, and build team rapport
  • Highly motivated team player
