A temporary opportunity for approximately 7 months is currently available; this can be located in any of the above locations; this may be extended and/or become a permanent placement.

Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia.

The role of Mechanical Engineer with the CVSE is responsible for providing commercial and passenger vehicle engineering support and analysis; analyzing and drafting commercial transport and vehicle components and systems related policies and safety regulations; and developing and implementing new technologies for safety and productivity gains in commercial transport.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent as recognized by the relevant association.
  • Registered or immediately eligible for full registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC [EGBC]. Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction. Applicants must confirm their eligibility with the EGBC. Confirmation of registration/eligibility will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
  • Experience as a Professional Engineer working in the field of mechanical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference may be given to candidates with 2 or more years of this experience.

A Criminal Record Check [CRC] will be required.
