Role Summary:

An experienced human resources professional, the HR Generalist provides partnership support to specific assigned employee client groups. Role includes development, implementation and coaching on human resource programs and policies to best achieve the organization's objectives. Plans for and anticipates short-term and long-term human resource needs, following current business trends. Involved in recruitment, employee engagement, training & development, workforce planning & diversity, and the administration of compensation and benefits programs.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, plans and programs, consistent with employment laws and regulations.
  • Conducts HR-related investigations and outlines suggested corrective actions.
  • Addresses routine to moderately complex employee relations issues, and helps supervisors resolve them.
  • Helps people leaders address employee performance, discipline, and recognition issues.
  • Supports voluntary & involuntary termination processes to ensure smooth employee separations.
  • Participates in exit interviews, and compiles data on the reasons behind employee departure decisions.

Qualifications:

  • University degree and/or community college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
  • CHRP designation preferred
  • 3-5 years of full-time HR experience
  • Ability to influence at all levels of an organization
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
