Senior Contracts Administrator Job Openings in Calgary

As Senior Contracts Administrator with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of experts. This position is based in our Calgary office.
This role is responsible for purchasing of materials and contracting services for operations and maintenance, corporate, sustaining and capital projects. Position ensures that Trans Mountain Canada realizes the best overall value for the Company. This role acts as a buyer and a contract administrator.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for handling highly responsible procurement work which includes; establish purchasing strategies, contract negotiations, awarding of service and materials orders, purchase order formation, expediting, and contract award management; including monitoring schedules and other terms.
  • Negotiate with supply sources to resolve any disputes or claims initiated by either party.
  • Responsibilities also include preparation and managing sourcing events, soliciting proposals, evaluation and negotiation of proposals and commercial terms, providing commercial recommendations, facilitate pre-award meetings, assisting in the administration of scope changes as required post-award plus other duties as assigned by the Manager particular to the pipeline and terminal industry.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, project management, risk management, procurement, legal, vendors and suppliers to resolve internal and external issues.
  • Deal directly with the supplier/contractor regarding responsibilities and obligations as per the contract.
  • Provide input on market conditions, supplier selection and past experiences relating to contracting strategies.
  • Work directly with suppliers to ensure that Trans Mountain is receiving the best overall value and quality materials.
  • Providing guidance to all Trans Mountain personnel while monitoring compliance with Trans Mountain's Procurement Policies.

Qualifications and Professional Experience
  • Post-secondary education or relevant certification in Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Contract Management or related field.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge in general Oil and Gas products with pipelines and terminals. Familiar with industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint and previous experience with contracts management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts ensuring contractual deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various levels of management and employees in corporate, regional and field offices with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
