Maintenance Planner Job Openings in Snow Lake

Dumas is a leading full-service underground mining contractor providing services to clients throughout the Americas. We specialize in mine construction, mine development, production mining, mine services and engineering.
The Successful Candidate will have at least 3 years experience planning for the maintenance of heavy equipment in a fast paced, challenging environment. It is essential that he/she be proficient with 'GuideTTI' and Excel and a working knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.
Preference will be given to Manitoba Residents
From day one, you can expect to prioritize, plan, schedule and follow up on the accuracy of the job plan for all requests. A proactive planning approach to optimizing workforce productivity and minimizing equipment downtime means managing requests 2 to 4 weeks in advance and responding to priority issues of the day.
Daily Accountabilities:

  • Approaching work performance with safety as the highest priority.
  • Liaising between the maintenance department and operations. Ensuring high equipment availability and performance.
  • Escalate problems to the Life Cycle Manager for work which appears invalid or costly.
  • Identify opportunities requiring engineering design and reviews them with the engineering team.
  • Actively participate in scheduling with operations to determine priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead time.
  • Develop preliminary manpower schedules.
  • Partner with Maintenance leads and supervisors to determine resource availability and work to best utilize the work force.
  • Manage the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion.
  • Provide a total cost estimate for the work to be performed: labor, material, and outside services.
  • Determine and identify any vendor delivered service for the work order.
  • Provide job estimates based on craft or skills required, sequence required and number required.
  • Work with Stores to manage spare part usage to maximize turns but minimize risk of using critical spares.
  • Manage a backlog of work orders which require a major or significant portion of the facility to be shutdown.
  • Continuously improve job estimates, planning and scheduling by receiving feedback from Dumas stakeholders.
  • Keep accurate metrics of the performance of planning and scheduling functions and provide timely reports to the Reliability Manager.
