The role is responsible for financial analysis of bad debts, collection costs and all projects/initiatives that are conceptualized and implemented supporting Credit Operations. The responsibilities involve providing advice on the strategic direction of initiatives and reaffirming the validity of the strategy through detailed financial analysis.


  • Prepare financial models and business cases and present to senior management for approval
  • Build predictive models to forecast accounts receivable, days sales outstanding and bad debts
  • Lead working teams and provide direction to credit analysts to collect relevant information, attend regular meetings with business primes to validate the results and present to the Credit Operations and Finance SLT
  • Independently complete month-end closing process for various business units and provide explanation for variances vs. budgets/forecasts
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly performance reports and present to Credit Operations and Finance SLT
  • Assist with planning activities including monthly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Analyze key financial drivers and provide explanations by way of rate/volume schedules.
  • Participate and complete business ROI evaluation analysis as required
  • Provide assistance to business primes on all procurement requests
  • Investigate and close outstanding Purchase Orders (PO). Prepare PO reconciliation for quarterly sign off by Finance VP
  • Maintain appropriate SOX controls for financial reporting and ensure strict adherence to policy requirements
  • Deliver all ad hoc analysis and business presentations in an accurate and timely manner


  • Individual should be a team player with proven organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in developing, preparing and presenting management reports
  • Strong problem-solving, operational and financial analysis skills with consistent attention to detail
  • The environment is dynamic and demanding. The individual must have a good work ethic and should be able to work well under pressure and under tight deadlines as required.
  • Advance Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Experience working with SAS, Oracle, Essbase financial systems an asset
  • University degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science required
  • Financial designation or MBA with at least 3 years of progressive experience an asset
  • Experience in credit risk, collection call centre support or management an asset
