Cleaner - FT Contract Job Openings in Brantford

DATE OF POSTING: September 28, 2020

POSITION: CLEANER

POSTING NUMBER: 2020 – 07

AVAILABLE: Immediately - Temporary 12 month contract

LOCATION: Various

EDUCATION AND

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read and write English
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning materials and processes; and
  • Experience in institutional cleaning preferred

RESPONSIBLE TO: Facilities Manager

To provide general janitorial duties and cleaning.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Periodic cleaning and spot checking when cleaners are not present
  • Cleans boardroom and kitchen including vacuuming and wiping down tables
  • Cleans washrooms, including sinks and toilets as needed
  • Cleans playroom, including toys, counters, tables, chairs and carpets
  • Cleans front windows, exterior and interior doors, interview rooms and reception area
  • Clean up and spill containment
  • To use ULV Corded Fogger, training provided on site
  • Other property/building related needs as required or assigned
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Own vehicle
  • Must provide own transportation to and between worksites.
  • Other duties as assigned

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains knowledge of all agency policies and procedures; as well as all other health and safety legislative requirements
  • Ensures compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, Agency’s health and safety

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize work to meet various deadlines
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentially and exercise sound judgement
  • Committed to anti-oppression values of justice, equity, respect of the beliefs and traditions of others
  • Ability to respond to building emergency and security concerns outside of regular business hours

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $ 30,262 to $34,183

HOURLY RATE: $ 17.24 to $19.48
