Job Description


The has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated full-time Project Procurement Officer to join the Supply Chain Team at the Calgary Support Centre. Reporting to the Procurement Superintendent, the incumbent will be the primary supply chain representative for the strategic sourcing and procurement support for assigned external clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve cost savings for the business through strategic purchasing;
  • Execution of long-term contracts, and implementation of value-added projects;
  • Help deliver timely, accurate and impactful communications products that reflect ’s Pursuit of Brilliance;
  • Engage with internal clients to develop Scope of Work for service requests;
  • Lead and execute competitive strategic sourcing RFx for internal clients;
  • Evaluate RFx and deliver results and recommendations to Tender Board;
  • Evaluation and Execute Purchase Orders in accordance with DBCI Procurement Policy;
  • Contract Administration; Manage centralized database of all active contracts across all company groups, identifying contracts requiring renewal, cancellation or extension as necessary;
  • Contract Management; field all contract-related inquiries governed by a contract clause (required amendments, pricing concerns, billing concerns, insurance concerns);
  • Manage all corporate insurance concerns, including the execution of all renewals and AA Audits;
  • 360 Risk Analysis.

This is a remote hybrid position. Working remotely from home and the Calgary Support Centre.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred;
  • Supply Chain Management Diploma;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a procurement officer or related position;
  • Ability to construct comprehensive financial models to simulate future operational scenarios;
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of project procurement processes and policy;
  • Hands-on experience with Ariba and SAP;
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel);
  • Relationship management;
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions;
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a cross-functional business team;
  • Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts;
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail;
  • Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels;
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently;
  • Demonstrated capabilities in process improvement and an adaptability to change;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters; and
  • Willingness to travel to mine sites to engage and educate site personnel and to assist in troubleshooting their issues.
