What we need:

In this position, you will service and maintain all HVAC and other equipment throughout the Hospital.

Specific areas of responsibilities will include:

  • Performing preventive maintenance and inspection of HVAC equipment as per generated work orders
  • Conducting regular PM inspections and troubleshoot equipment failures
  • Operating standby generators, electrical distribution, air conditioning and ventilation systems
  • Perform FA System bypasses and troubleshooting as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

The successful candidate must be available to work nights, including weekends and statutory holidays. Weekday shifts are: 7AM-3PM, 8AM-4PM. Every six weeks there is a rotation to work weekends 8AM-8PM and weekend evening on call until 8AM. Every six weeks there is a weekday evening rotation, 3PM-11PM and on call until 7AM. Scheduling is subject to change based on the operational needs of the department.

What you bring to MSH:

  • Current Millwright or Mechanic Journeyman or 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate
  • 3 years commercial/industrial HVAC experience
  • Sound working knowledge of HVAC and pumps is essential
  • Variable Frequency Drive experience is an asset
  • Preference will be given to applicants holding multiple qualifications
  • Experience working with building automation systems
  • Previous computer experience
  • Good customer service skills
  • Evidence of good initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
