Supply Chain Analyst Job Opening in Victoria

The Supply Chain Analyst role will act as primary support for a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) project based in Victoria Shipyards. They will also support various business process re-engineering, redesign and change initiatives. The position is responsible for documenting business processes, facilitating stakeholder workshops and for generating process and procedure manuals and user learning guides.

This role is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of data mining models from JD Edwards and other systems which ensure accurate and timely reporting of key performance (KPI) metrics and data analysis requirements.

Duties/Accountabilities

Performs role as lead supply chain business analyst for MRP Project and designs and builds data models and processes.

Subject matter expert role in Seaspan’s business intelligence application, data modelling, data analysis and data reporting to support supply chain KPI requirements.

  • Super User for the organization’s Procure-To-Pay process and system including requisitioning, Purchase Order Creation, through to Payment Processing.
  • Identifies and works with Supply Chain leaders to deliver best practice procurement solutions.
  • Develops KPIs and drives the improvement of KPI metrics for business processes, making necessary changes to the application of KPI reporting to enhance business processes efficiency.
  • Works with end-users and Business Intelligence reporting team (including Sharepoint Integration) to define data warehouse requirements and specifications to support organizational supply chain needs.
  • Administers, maintains and supports existing supply chain reporting solutions.
  • Leads and/or participates in cross-functional teams to identify and deliver process improvement initiatives that result in increases in efficiency.
  • Documents process maps, process and procedure manual(s), and user learning guides.
  • Participates in the continued expansion of JD Edwards ERP/MRP System in the Purchasing and Inventory Modules.
  • Supports the integration and change management/training of Supply Chain Management processes across Seaspan and extended business partners (suppliers, customers, finance, operations, legal, risk, etc.).
  • Support organizational change readiness assessments and make recommendations to Management for specific areas of improvement.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field Business/Operations Management and/or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.
  • Minimum 7 years work experience in a supply chain management. This experience requirement includes a minimum of 5 years supporting MRP system in a Supply Chain role. As well a minimum of 2 years’ experience in data warehousing, data integration, data mining and data reports writing (Business Objects, Power BI, SAP BI, etc.).
  • Membership in PMI, ISM, PMAC or APICS preferred; enrolment and/or completion of PMP, CPM, CPP, CPIM, CSCP, PLOG is desirable.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies

  • Ability to work with data from large and integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably JDE Enterprise One (or equivalent)
  • Ability to support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) solution, preferably JDE Enterprise One applications.
  • Solid understanding of data quality best practices and data integration concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of quantitative methods and statistical process control/analysis programs, such as Six Sigma and Quality Assurance;
  • Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management, materials/procurement management and change management.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and financial concepts to define and solve complex business problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective listening skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS-Office (Excel/Words/Outlook/PowerPoint/Visio) as well as Sharepoint and Power BI.
  • Adaptability and open-mindedness to change/improvements.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, problem solve and multi-task.
  • Customer service orientation, self-starter and initiative.
