Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance and Service Technician will ensure work performed and product delivered to the end consumer is of the utmost quality. This position requires a high level of interaction and support to Mylen customers and colleagues, while communicating with cross-functional teams, as applicable. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with the Project Coordinations and Sales departments, while adhering to adequate quality standards and ensuring process optimization.


  • Must travel to job sites with company vehicle when assigned to off-site locations.
  • Assess and inspect the quality and nature of completed installations (off-site).
  • Ability to perform minor installations as necessary, off-site (i.e., custom cabinetry, doors, surface hardware, drawer assembly of custom cabinetry, etc.)
  • Effectively respond to off-site customer inquiries and concerns with a high level of communication and troubleshooting (i.e., warranty of installed cabinets).
  • Be available/flexible to accommodate customer schedules/availability (off-site).
  • Reduce/limit return trips to job sites through preparedness of parts and tools as well as ensuring quality of work performed is to company and customer standards (off-site).
  • Educate customers with industry and product specific knowledge (off-site).
  • Troubleshoot challenges and develop corrective solutions through consultation with the customer, Management, Sales and Design Team and the use of industry knowledge and training.
  • Extensive assessment and inspection of the quality and nature of cabinet parts on-site, including identifying deficiencies, proper finish, dings, dents, scratches, cleanliness, etc.
  • Inspect and confirm proper installation of accessories proper functioning of all mechanisms.
  • Ability to recognize and determine if touch up or refinishing is required.
  • Perform corrective actions, such as repairs and touch ups, as necessary, with high attention to detail and workmanship off and on site (i.e., paint, dings, dents, scratches).
  • Thorough documentation of quality assessment and corrective actions performed and any necessary follow-up installations required (off and on site, as applicable).
  • Have a strong understanding of Mylen’s warranty policy and procedures.
  • Establish and promote above standard customer service and public relations in all aspects of work performance and work habits.
  • Perform additional duties as required or directed.
  • Ensure maintenance of company service vehicle through daily circle checks and cleaning.
  • Fine carpentry skills considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform miter moldings considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform touch ups to finished wood working considered an asset.


  • Valid class G Ontario driver’s license with clear driver’s history/abstract.
  • Proof of valid personal insurance.
  • Clear criminal background check.
  • Scheduling flexibility.
  • Be prepared and punctual for all scheduled installation appointments and company meetings.
  • Ability to work in a quality, results driven and fast paced work environment.
  • Able to operate technology that may be required on the job (i.e., camera, cell phone, tablet).
  • Stay up to date on industry and position specific knowledge and practices.
  • Stay up to date and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date and adapt to changes in the workplace as well as changes to position requirements as required to facilitate proper business flow.
  • Be positive and courteous at all times, while maintaining a professional demeanor; be an ambassador for Mylen.
  • Complete required reports/administrative work immediately/as required throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in hot and humid and cold work environments.
  • Physically demanding tasks (i.e., lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time). Able to lift and load heavy objects.
  • CSA steel toed construction grade safety shoes.


  • One – two years’ cabinet installation experience.
  • Vocational, technical training or equivalent experience an asset.
  • Experience in trim and moulding installation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering and technical drawings, as well as other written instructions and design specifications.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining speed and accuracy to ensure daily production requirements are met.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic/advanced hand and power tools.
  • Strong mathematical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and take accurate measurements.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and detail oriented.
  • Autonomous, honest and trustworthy.
  • Strong communication skills, proficient in English.
