Core Responsibilities
  • Development, administration, and implementation of both the non-regulatory QC Program procedures and the Regulatory Quality Management System.Manage / supervise all QA/QC Regional Coordinators including their performance and activities.
  • Perform audits of shop and field sites to ensure compliance to both the regulatory QMS and to client specifications.
  • Provide technical coaching and support to personnel relating to QA/QC issues.
  • Review and approval of QA/QC personnel qualifications as suitable for project or site assignments
  • Responsible to interface and support Business Development Group
  • Establish and maintain records as required and detailed in the Quality Manual, related Codes and Standards.
  • Coordinate with the Client and/or Authorized Inspector appropriately on matters concerning Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements
  • To assist QC Coordinators in the training of employees with regards to the Quality System
  • Establish and maintain records as required and detailed in the Quality Manual, related Codes and Standards.
  • Coordinate with the Client and/or Authorized Inspector appropriately on matters concerning Quality Assurance requirements
  • To review contract documentation for requirements pertaining to quality.
  • Have a thorough understanding of “Progressive Turnover” and the work process required to support this.
  • Ensure ongoing effectiveness of company, client and regulatory work processes.
  • Create an environment that fosters team and individual performance.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and co-workers.
  • Provide timely reports related to requirements and performance.
  • Review incoming work packages to ensure they comply with Client Specifications and Applicable Code of Construction
  • Ensure an "Inspection Test Plan" for each work package is issued for client approval and prior to starting the approved package; discuss all applicable inspection activities with the Craft Foreman responsible for work to be execution
  • Monitor and examine all equipment, piping installation and/or welding for acceptance criteria as per the code of construction used and client specifications
  • Generate and maintain all reports, charts and records pertinent to the Quality Plan, ITP and/or turnover package requirements
  • Plan, schedule and dispatch Non-Destructive Testing Personnel per work scope package and in progress work surveillance
  • Interpret welding procedures and ensure all work is executed using the appropriate welding procedure and verify welder qualification
  • Monitor welding/piping activities and quality performance to ensure an acceptable standard of quality is achieved
  • Witness pressure testing and verify calibrated pressure gauges are used.
  • Witnessing all pneumatic testing and ensure that an approved procedure is in place and that authorized inspector has been informed prior to system testing
  • Document, report and initiate "Non-Conformance Reports" for any non-conforming items
  • Team player with excellent team building skills
  • GOOD Communication skills – verbal, written

  • A Materials or Welding Engineering technical diploma considered an asset
  • CWB level II or III certification; or
  • API 510 or 570 certification; and a minimum (2-3) years of QC site or shop experience working within a Quality Control Department
  • 10 years experience leading / managing group and individual performance in Petro-Chemical Manufacturing, preferably in a QA/QC industrial construction or maintenance environment.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of practical experience as a Quality Control Inspector or Supervisor in an industrial construction or maintenance environment.
  • Competent knowledge of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code and ISO 9001
  • Proficient with computers and MS Office related applications.
  • Strong administrative, organizational and inter-personal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and independent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accommodate scheduled travel requirements

The following will be considered assets:
  • Leader / Managerial certification / training.
  • Engineering degree or Engineering technical diploma.
  • CWB certification.
  • API certification.
  • CGSB NDE certification (RT, MT, PT, UT).
  • Suitable education, certification and/or experience will be considered.
