The Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice Level 2 role is responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units, diagnosing faults and adjusting units to specification to ensure mobile and production equipment meet established operational and safety standards.

What we expect you to do:

  • Troubleshoot, service, repair and replace engine management systems, exhaust, intake and emission systems, clutches and transmissions, drive shafts, drive axle assemblies and final drives, steering, braking, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, body and trim, tires, wheels and tracks. All duties are performed in accordance with manufacturer, regulatory, and established policies and procedures and under the care of a 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
  • Record all work performed, equipment malfunctions and defects; provide detailed reports to Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Maintains a cleanly and orderly working environment
  • Cleans work area of slip and trip hazards
  • Returns all unused parts to parts department
  • Returns all company owned tools to tool crib
  • Performs general housekeeping of assigned work station
  • Work in a safe manner respecting all Company and legislative Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


  • NIGHT SHIFT - Monday to Friday 7:00PM – 6:00AM (On call when required)

You have:

  • Standards that mirror Triple M Metal’s Core Values of Respect, Ethics, Service, Team and Pride.
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Motive Power – Heavy Duty Equipment Level 2
  • A valid College of Trades Membership
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience performing the duties listed above.
  • A valid G Driver’s License.

Bonus Points!

  • Previous experience with FUCHS, Liebherr, Deutz, CAT and Volvo equipment.
