The Assistant Instructor/Coach position works with a small group of adult students and assists the Instructor on teaching different trades within the Housing Maintenance program. Trades skills are taught as the students participate in construction of residential homes, with a focus on practical, hands-on learning at the job site.
Journey level certification is required, Red Seal is an asset. Previous experience coaching apprentices on worksites and project management skills are required. Knowledge of worksite safety and general construction skills are required as this position will be actively involved with hands-on work and teaching at active construction sites – including all aspects of construction and house systems. Previous experience teaching will be considered an asset.
