Summary of Responsibilities
The Manager Hotel Business Analysis oversees and monitors all activities of the data analytics and data warehousing as it relates to Hotel Finance and Business Support. The Manager Hotel Business Analysis provides thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key issues within the business. The Manager Hotel Business Analysis leads the Hotel Finance and Business Support data analytics and data warehousing teams in research, development, and implementation of appropriate data systems that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals.
The Manager Hotel Business Analysis is also responsible for driving departmental culture and promoting data-driven decision-making, across the business. The Manager Hotel Business Analysis additionally builds a profile of data and analytics by providing clear data and analytics stories and spreading them across the business. The role of the Manager Hotel Business Analysis is a strategic one and in this position, the Manager Hotel Business Analysis provides management visibility into data-driven insights that inform the business’s strategic direction and KPI’s. The Manager Hotel Business Analysis will work closely with the senior leadership in an effort to guarantee the delivery of high-quality execution of the diverse array of project deliverables. In this collaboration, the Manager Hotel Business Analysis also participates in the formulation of data-driven business decisions (how, where, when, which channels, and so forth) and demonstrates delivery against the business’s overall objectives
Control and Compliance
Engage in developing related PNP Standard Operating Procedures, providing materials and communication such during PNP updates for Finance & Business Support. Subject matter expert on all aspects of hotel policies and procedures related to Hotel Finance and Business Support analytics.
Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis
Analysis: The Manager Hotel Business Analysis will develop analysis and interpretation of financial data with-in the region and communicating this in a comprehensible form of meaningful variations in the operations. The analysis of the P&L accounts, Key Business Indicators, Key Performance Indicators and balance sheet accounts, HMA compliance calculation, on a selected basis and the review and analysis of the monthly internal benchmarking and operational performance analysis reports. This will enable Senior Leadership to understand such benchmarking and help the Hotels in the region to enhance revenues while improving productivity and cost efficiencies.
To support and some cases manage such reporting as the annual budget, capital budgets, the rolling forecasts and other ongoing reporting, including but not limited to, Dashboards, GM Scorecard, DOF Scorecard, etc.
Platforms: The Manager Hotel Business Analysis will develop and establish effective platforms for generating dynamic analysis related to financial planning as well as key business and performance indicators.
Develop full understanding of platforms being used (i.e. Sun, Hyperion, SmartView, META, BIA, etc.) essentially being a subject matter expert in this area. This would also include planned platforms to be implemented including but limited to “One Stream”, and “Ceridian DayForce”.
Post-secondary education in a related fields/disciplines such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Applied Math, Business Administration, etc. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position. Experience in hotel accounting or operation will be preferred. Ability to work across the matrix within the corporate structure to get tasks done and work cohesively as part of team. Highly responsible and able to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion. Must have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form. Being the head of the data analytics, the Manager Hotel Business Analysis will need to be able to clearly communicate instructions and sensitive information down the line for data analytics and data warehousing personnel to effectively execute their duties. Communication skills will also be needed in the collaborative capacity of the Director where clear communications will be needed to facilitate smooth interaction and efficient execution of collaborative duties.
Must have excellent computer skills and be highly proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, which will be necessary in the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations, for senior analytics leadership, and key stakeholders. The Manager Hotel Business Analysis must also be skilled in SQL server reporting services, Tableau, analysis services, or any other data visualization tools.
Must have certain personal attributes that make them more suited for the position. The candidate must be detail oriented, be comfortable working in a collaborative setting, be comfortable working with senior leadership, be self-motivated requiring minimal supervision, be proactive, be a creative strategic and independent thinker, have superior problem-solving skills, have an ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight-deadlines, have a positive can-do attitude, and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.
Must demonstrate quality leadership skills, demonstrating an ability to inspire and lead subordinates in a unified direction with a common vision.
