Marketing Coordinator / Receptionist - Cruises & Events Job Opening in Toronto

The successful Marketing Coordinator will successfully assist the sales and marketing team to maximize profitability and create brand awareness in the Toronto marketplace.

The successful Marketing Coordinator will attain goals, will personally contribute to the unforgettable guest experience, will be favorably viewed by supervisors and peers, and will be swift and efficient in the execution of their assigned duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist Marketing Manager with various responsibilities, including:
  • Maintain a media binder of all current marketing, including PDFs and collateral
  • Run monthly or bimonthly reports and track results
  • Create and post content across all social media platforms on a regular basis
  • Assist with promotional partnership opportunities, including submitting event logistics
  • Provide assistance with direct mail lists and mailings
  • Assist with photography for social media including promotional photos of food, drink, staff, vessels and the harbour
  • Assist with Concierges program, run concierge reports, maintain relationships and administer concierge pay-outs
  • Assist when necessary with trade shows, showcases, promotional cruises, partnership cruises, etc.
  • Provide marketing materials and marketing support for the sales team
  • Submit all marketing and sales requests and updates to corporate marketing, ecommerce or revenue teams via internal system called Metacom
  • Administration of various other marketing initiatives


  • Interact with internal and external customers in a friendly and helpful manner consistent with Our Service System.
  • Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen and forward calls, providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments.
  • Greet persons entering office, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
  • File and maintain records.
  • Provide information about establishment such as location of offices and vessels, employees within the organization, or services provided.
  • Transmit information or documents to external and internal customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine
  • Direct sales inquiries to the appropriate Account Manager based on market segments
  • Any additional administrative duties required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience
  • Administrative experience an asset
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Must be detail oriented and maintain high level of organization
  • Proficient at all social media outlets: Twitter, Facebook & Instagram
  • Graphic Design skills, and knowledge of software (Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on importance or time urgencies; able to meet deadlines on a consistent basis
  • Must be flexible to work on evening and weekend cruise events as required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Proficient computer skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Per Canadian Federal Regulations, must possess a SIN card, along with work permits if applicable
