Job Description

Position Summary

The MSS Security Engineer works in Security’s Mississauga ON (Canada) location as a member of the MSS Enablement and Innovation Team. The MSS Security Engineer will be a part of MSS focusing on supporting various IT, Network and Security initiatives pertaining to the MSS infrastructure. This role will be a key service delivery resource providing thought, leadership and technical expertise around technical security and IT solutions such as managed SIEM, VPN, SNMP monitoring, configuration backups, network connectivity, access solutions and automation scripting.

Qualifications

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Build IPSEC VPN tunnels to client networks. Configure SNMP monitoring from client devices to ’s centralized monitoring solution. Create backups from client devices and store them in ’s datacenters. Configure access to client networks. Configure client portal and perform account creation/modification/deletion on the AD server. Assist with the creation and maintenance of processes, procedures, standards, and policies. Create/maintain/update internal documentation. Explain technical solutions to the client and walk them through configurations of their devices Learn more complex setups from senior security engineers. Create architecture diagrams outlining the technical solution for connectivity and access to the client. Provide support for integration and onboarding activities to ensure smooth client transition to MSS operations. Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems, using strong TCP/IP networking skills. Respond in a timely manner (within documented SLA) to configuration, maintenance, incident management, and other requests. Adhere to established MSS policies, procedures, and security practices. Perform on-call support for operational clients concerning connectivity and access. Resolve problems independently and understand escalation procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering or related field of study.

• 2 or more years of experience in Information Security or Networking required.
• One or more years of experience with scripting and programming languages such as: Bash, C, C#, Perl, PHP, Python, Java, AJAX, HTML, CSS, PowerShell or others.
• Prefer CCNA, BCCPP, JNCIS-SEC, JNCIS-FWV, JNCIS-SA, CCSE, ACE, CNSE, SFCP, SFCSE, SFCTSE certifications.
• Practical expertise with TCP/IP networking required.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows and Network Operating Systems required.

• Requires taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and overall success of managed services.
• Requires interfacing with a variety of customers in a polite, positive, and professional manner.

• Preferred candidates will have one or more certifications in Security/Networking including Security+, GSEC, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP or other security specific vendor/product certifications
• Technical knowledge with industry security products preferred.
• Solid understanding of networking required.

• Detail oriented with strong organization skills required.
• Customer service focus required with strong interpersonal skills including excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Will be required to be on-call after hours and weekends on a rotating basis.
• May be required to work occasional off-shift hours to cover customer maintenance and on-site activities.
