Awake Nights - Community Support Worker Job Openings in Didsbury

Accredited Supports to the Community (ASC), a not-for-profit charitable society, providing disability and family community support services across South Central Alberta requires a reliable and responsible person to become part of a professional team. We support people with developmental disabilities to live their best lives in their homes and their community. ASC offers a supportive work environment that includes training.

Part Time Opportunity

Compensation consists of the following depending on experience: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour base rate for weekdays. $21.00 - $22.00 per hour base rate for weekends.

Additional compensation rates include: a shift differential of $3.00 per hour between 5:00PM on Fridays and 7:00AM on Mondays and a $1.00 per hour shift differential for scheduled awake night shifts.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure people have adequate support while focusing on their independence and autonomy with home living
  • Carry out all aspects of the person's Individual Support Plan and help them achieve their goals
  • Support as required for personal care and hygiene while respecting individual dignity
  • Support people to access medical professionals and follow up including assistance with medications when required
  • Assistance with planning and preparation of nutritious meals
  • Maintenance of safe and personalized homes
  • Promotion of community connection, social opportunity and inclusion

The Choice Candidate will have:

  • Class 5 license and reliable vehicle, or with Class 4 licence vehicle requirement can be waived
  • Experience and education related to Disability Services
  • A clear Criminal Record Check
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated maturity and responsibility
  • Willingness and desire to learn
  • First Aid Level A
