Quality Assurance Coordinator Job Opening in Edmonton

Red Table Foods is currently looking to for a knowledgeable Quality Assurance Coordinator for our Production Kitchen located at the head office in South Edmonton (3790 98 St NW). Reporting to the designated Supervisor, this role will be an agent of change in the transformation of Company HACCP Standards in alignment with the new strategic direction towards achieving certification with CFIA. Please note that this position will support a 7-day operation, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Continuously improve and execute Food Safety programs.
  • Maintain product integrity and food safety within the Red Table facilities.
  • Implement government mandates regarding quality control in all areas of the Red Table facilities.
  • Maintain effective communication channels between regulatory bodies and Red Table.
  • Monitor all government regulations regarding food safety both inside and out of the Red Table facilities.
  • Facilitate training and auditing of employee Food Safety practices.
  • Adhere to specific customer requests in reference to quality of products.
  • Develop and organize different means of evaluating product quality.
  • Evaluate, review, and prepare as necessary standard operating procedures and supporting documents for each production area in the facilities.
  • Implement Food Safety improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare assorted special projects regarding quality and food safety for the facilities.
  • Act as lead on Red Table Food Safety team.
  • Audit Food Safety Systems on an ongoing basis.
  • Support hazard analysis in the introduction of new products, processes, equipment, etc.
  • Provide Regulation interpretation of current regulations and coaching/support to the facilities as the first point of contact for assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Quality department food processing, production facility, or related industry.
  • Post-secondary education in food science or related discipline.
  • Knowledge in CFIA certification is an asset.
  • HACCP management certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean 5 year driver’s abstract is required.
  • Internal audit experience.
  • Demonstrated competency in project planning, execution, communication and change management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
