Because of COVID19, all Central 1 offices are currently closed to non-essential employees. This role will see you working remotely until our offices are reopened. The timeline to reopen is still under consideration, as are our future remote working policies.

Job Description

As an Application Analyst, you will be supporting our Payment area. You will be working on maintaining, modifying, customizing and implementing various platforms, server migration, arranging change/release schedules, deployments, resolving incidents and maintaining system compliance.

What you'll do:

  • Monitor, coordinate and report all events affecting the applications
  • Analyze and solve complex issues and manage the escalation of issues to the Section Manager
  • Ensure that all incidents are responded to and resolved by established standards and agreements.
  • Create problem tickets based on recurring incidents
  • Research and analyze problems tickets perform changes as required
  • Design, modify, customize, implement and troubleshoots existing software
  • Coordinate change requests requiring re-configuration or development
  • Liaise with technical teams to ensure completed under the timeline
  • Understand the impact of current products and services and work towards reducing incidents and the effect
  • Recommends new or revised systems and processes to improve the productivity and efficiency of the application support process.
  • Required to participate in 24x7 on-call responsibilities


What you have:

  • University degree in computer science (or equivalent) and 3+ years of relevant experience in a large-scale IT environment.
  • Ability to provide support to project team, client request and client support team about questions or issues including (software/application errors, business requirement clarification, complex problems spanning multiple interconnected areas (software, infrastructure, systems, platform, vendors) and provide day-to-day support across a wide variety of products.
  • Experience in IT application support, design, development, and operational processes is required. Experience in Banking and financial industry, especially in Payment and Banking, is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of ActiveMQ is required
  • Strong Knowledge of Docker, CI CD pipeline
  • Excellent knowledge of Java Application Servers (Tomcat, JBoss, Jetty) is required
  • Experience in operating and supporting Web-Based Applications is required
  • Strong knowledge of operating and supporting Web Based Applications is required
  • Experience in monitoring / reporting tools such as Zenoss
  • Experience in using SQL (MS SQL, MySQL, etc.. ) is required
  • Experience with Linux/Unix Operating Systems. Knowledge of AWS and COBOL is required.
  • Excellent scripting/development skills (shell, perl, php, java)
  • Knowledge in IT management best practices: Problem, Incident, Release and Change ManagementITIL Foundation certification is a nice to have
  • Experience in mapping business requirement into a technical requirement
  • Experience in networks and firewalls – skillful ability to perform connectivity troubleshooting
