As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life SupportHealth Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and decision making abilities. Must be able to provide direction to other health care workers. Basic computer skills. Successful completion of the Hemodialysis training course in either Edmonton or Red Deer; pass mark of 80% on the final exam and satisfactory performance during the clinical component is required to move onto buddy shifts. Unit specific orientation shifts will be assigned by the hiring manager. Upon successful completion of orientation and buddy shifts, the candidate will be scheduled and required to attend a Two-Day Post-Orientation in Edmonton or Red Deer within three (3) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years recent Adult Acute Care Nursing experience. Recent acute and chronic Hemodialysis and/or Nephrology nursing experience. Demonstrated knowledge of case management.
