Intermediate Mechanical Engineer Job Opening in Whitehorse,

An employee-owned, Canadian company, Associated Engineering provides a broad base of consulting engineering services in the infrastructure, water, transportation, environmental, building, energy, and asset management sectors. We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer in our Vancouver office, however your projects will be across Canada.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Leading and participating in studies, reports, assessments in the design of buildings, building mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Taking the lead on the development of our passive house and net zero designs and their application to major projects.
  • Project managing; working on the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, and construction administration.
  • Participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, inspection, and commissioning.
  • Being involved in business development, client relations, preparation of proposals, and guiding junior staff in these same activities.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with EGBC.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus on sustainability.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in Passive House design. Passive House Accredited.
  • Experience with design, specifications, cost estimating, tendering, construction administration, commissioning and inspections.
  • Communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Committed team player with the ability to contribute and perform in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Business development skills and a willingness to advance our efforts.
  • Knowledge of BIM.
  • Ability to travel within Canada.
