The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is a not-for-profit charitable organization whose mission is to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, provide support services, and, support research to find a cause and a cure for this disease. The Society is a part of a Federation of Alzheimer Societies across Canada, a partnership in which all Alzheimer Societies work together to serve, advocate and support dementia research.

Description

This is a full-time (35 hours/week) one year position.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated and self-directed person with a strong desire to serve in the field of human services and facilitate programs, particularly relating to the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

This position will assist with and facilitate planned programs and services involving a range of activities:

  • Promote established programs
  • Support referral intake & ongoing follow-up
  • Respond to client inquiries
  • Data entry of demographic information for client contact logs

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in social sciences, social services, or health services
  • Registration with a professional organization would be ideal; recent graduates qualified to register and student members will be considered
  • Experience in facilitation, adult education or community engagement would be an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Security Clearance for Vulnerable Persons
