The Guideline Resource Unit (GURU) supports 14 provincial Tumour Teams in developing clinical practice guidelines for the diagnosis, staging, treatment, and follow-up of cancer. These guidelines are reviewed and updated at annual provincial Tumour Team meetings, which are attended by multi-disciplinary health care providers and researchers from across Alberta. The Administrative Support III provides support to GURU team members in daily activities related to guideline development and dissemination, including setting up meeting polls, scheduling virtual and in-person meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating documents. Duties and responsibilities include: 1) working in collaboration with the Program Coordinator to support planning of annual provincial Tumour Team meetings; 2) creating, maintaining, and updating email distribution lists and preparing/distributing routine correspondence (polls, schedules, mailing lists, annual reports, presentations, newsletters, surveys, and information packages), to members on these lists; 3) providing calendar support to the Medical Director and team members, and attending meetings as required; and 4) providing general office administrative support to team members by monitoring and ordering supplies, coordinating mail and courier services, answering and delegating telephone/email inquiries, coordinating room bookings and audiovisual support for working group meetings, attending and taking minutes at monthly team meetings, and timekeeping.Description:
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Additional Required Qualifications:
Certificate or diploma in Office Administration or equivalent secretarial training. Minimum of one course in medical terminology. Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role. Ability to communicate effectively and in a calm, courteous, timely, and professional manner with a variety of healthcare providers. Ability to multi-task while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills; able to establish priorities and make independent decisions. Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision in a team setting. Willingness and ability to travel to offsite meetings, as required.Preferred Qualifications:
