Primary function

The successful candidate will be responsible for LAO LAW website maintenance and support, Twitter support, file management, assisting with editing and preparation of LAO LAW research memoranda and resources and weekly online newsletters.

Key accountabilities

Organize, manage, and track content published on LAO LAW`s website, including ongoing maintenance and support, including: website coding, Command Line coding, newsletter coding.
Assist with the day-to-day website inquiries and requests from LAO LAW users (panel and staff lawyers), regarding website access, use and LAO status
Prepare and distribute the department’s weekly online newsletters, keeping the email distribution list current, and designing and implementing changes to graphics and layout of newsletter
Liaise with IT Department, consultants and other LAO staff on various projects including web/video development and content
Conduct research in response to requests related to website and make recommendations on changes to website for efficient, clear content
Coordinate development upgrades/Cuadra STAR program
Maintenance of manuals for Cuadra STAR and administrative duties
Maintain various department specific databases
Regularly track website statistics and translate to a plain-language report for distribution internally
General office duties including file management, document preparation, editing and delivery, telephone and email service, organizing documents and maintaining office equipment, maintaining printers, photocopiers and scanners
Library maintenance, including regular interfiling of publishers’ releases into loose-leaf digests, maintaining reports in the LAO LAW library and updating spreadsheet of all library holdings
Other Duties as assigned.

Required skills & experience

A post-secondary degree in a relevant field: information management, computer science or other relevant educational qualifications.
Relevant experience in related role(s), with experience in website coordination and database maintenance.
Experience with HTML, Dreamweaver, CSS and/or similar programs….
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint),with ability to quickly learn other in-house programs (eg. Peoplesoft).
Experience with video editing and use of video programs such as Youtube, Vimeo, and/or similar platforms.
Attention to detail and excellent technical writing skills.
Excellent communication skills to work with staff across the organization and respond to LAO LAW’s diverse clients with varying demands
