Ramp Agent Job Openings in Alberta

Acden Base Operators Ltd. (ABO) requires an Experienced Ramp Agent at our, Fort McKay, Alberta, Suncor – Firebag, Aerodrome location. This position is permanent full-time. This position requires travel. Working two weeks in and two weeks out on a modified work agreement or a modified work agreement of 4 days on 3 days off. Flights to and from the worksite from Edmonton and or Calgary will be provided by the Company.

Job Summary

Perform the duties associated with Ground Support/Ramp Operations such as but not limited to: aircraft de-icing, aircraft marshaling, ground start equipment operation and baggage handling assigned by the Site Supervisor in a safe and efficient manner.

Will be required to perform other skilled and unskilled tasks related to the job to assure continuous operation by our client. Other duties as assigned including Cross Training duties with passenger check in staff.

Essential job functions

1. Marshaling aircraft in and out of the aerodrome

2. Ability to operate Ground start equipment

3. Aircraft de-icing and anti-icing

4. Baggage loading and unloading

5. Ability to operate various ground equipment.

6. Greet and check-in passengers for their flights, verifying documents and identification.

7. Manage gate operations and flight closure.

8. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.

9. Commitment to teamwork with fellow employees, pilots, flight attendants and other contractors.

10. Organize the safe loading and unloading of passengers to and from buses.

11. Manage all aspects of its business with regards to prevention of pollution and minimize or eliminate adverse environmental and health impacts. This will be achieved by taking into consideration and complying with; federal, provincial and municipal regulations and guidelines, (whichever is the more stringent) in conjunction with customer, employee and public requirements and concerns.

12. Keep work spaces and general areas clean, orderly and hazard free; wear personal protective equipment

13. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds

14. Computer Knowledge required for Passenger Check – In and Online Training

Secondary duties, as required, may include but not limited to: conducting environmental, safety and quality checks, general housekeeping in support of a healthy and safe workplace environment and taking proactive and corrective measures in these areas.

  • Hold a valid driver's licence,
  • AVOP
  • Previous experience with aircraft de icing and aircraft ground handling
  • Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Screening
  • Drivers Abstract
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Common Safety OrientationEnergy Safety Canada (previously know as ENFORM) would be an asset.
