Operations Supervisor Job Openings in Brampton

Triple M Metal was founded over 40 years ago by two brothers; with one truck, and work ethic rivaled by none. We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Chopline Supervisor, in Brampton, ON; to play an instrumental role in guiding Triple M into the future, as a continued industry leader. This role will require a passionate, analytical, and approachable leader who can help our story extend well into the future. Will you be a part of our story?

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Chopline, the Chopline Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the Non-Ferrous Chopline Operations to ensure daily/weekly operational objectives are met or exceeded. Including: management of all employees on shift, health and safety, accountability to quality and quantity of materials produced and distributed, and associated reporting.

What we expect you to do:

  • Review inventory on a daily basis to ensure material is being stored correctly in their respective areas;
  • Ensures operation of daily production equipment by scheduling repairs when required;
  • Ensure production schedules are met and appropriate follow-up to resolve problems is taken
  • Ensure shipped material meets internal/external speciation in accordance with customer specifications, and operational and/or quality policies and procedures
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, service and cost
  • Work with division leadership to develop and maintain operational processes necessary for achievement of longer-term goals.
  • Provide support to employees on shift through: communicating relevant information and objectives, scheduling, training, evaluating, and motivating:
  • Identify training needs of staff regularly
  • Become knowledgeable with and conduct all work related activities in accordance with applicable OHSA legislation and company policies and procedures
  • Maintenance and verification of training documentation on an annual basis
  • Resolve personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action in cooperation with the Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Provide assistance and counseling to employees as required on the application health & safety policies and procedures
  • Provide hands-on leadership and direction to production employees by coaching and managing in a positive and constructive manner
  • Ensures that people resources are effectively utilized and issues are resolved in order to establish and maintain a positive and engaged work environment
  • Deliver orientation and training as required to ensure a safe and efficient work force
  • Audits all staff reports, including but not limited to:
  • Equipment Inspection Checklists, and Production Reports.
  • Monitor’s reports for accuracy and thorough completion in accordance with operational and quality policies and procedures.
  • Records findings and compiles reports relating to equipment service, inventory and production
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance and adherence to organizational policies and procedures (Health and Safety, Environment, Quality and HR);


  • Completion of Post-Secondary education (College or University Level)
  • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years in a leadership or supervisory role with accountability for a crew of 8+ employees
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, allocate, and execute to meet or exceed operational objectives
  • Thorough understanding and experience in implementing manufacturing efficiencies
  • Experience supervising on a continental shift
  • Proven ability to supervise in the absence of upper management
  • Computer literacy, with basic Microsoft Excel competency;
  • Refined written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands on experience working with manufacturing machinery and equipment

  • Knowledge of Joint Health and Safety Committee and Environmental and Health and Safety practices
  • Experience working a Continental shift schedule
  • Experiencing working along shipping and logistics departments
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Fundamentals of the Non-Ferrous metal recycling industry
  • PLC experience

Hours of Work:

  • 7: 00am - 7:00pm on a continental schedule
  • Working every other weekend
  • In total, this position will work 7 out of every 14 days
